The program for the prevention of early, forced, and child marriages was launched in November 2019 through a collaboration between the GAP Administration, AÇEV and UNICEF in Gaziantep, Hatay, Kilis, Mardin, Siirt and Şanlıurfa with financial support from the Swedish International Development Agency. The aim of the program is to encourage positive social norms aimed at ending early, forced, and child marriages in all segments of the society. Hygiene and psycho-social support kits were distributed under this partnership between the GAP Administration, AÇEV, and UNICEF, aiming to support 2900 families during the Coronavirus pandemic. While hygiene kits provide support to families with limited access to essential hygiene supplies, psychosocial support kits target children who spend more time at home during the pandemic.
Along with hygiene and psychosocial support kits, we distributed AÇEV’s Guide to Protecting Wellbeing at Home During the Covid19 Pandemic. The guide contains information on COVID19, as well as information we may need at all times to maintain our physical and psychological wellbeing.
