OUR PROGRAMS

Mother-Child Education Program

Through the Mother Child Education Program, an evidence-based, home-based educational program for children 5 years of age, who have not received preschool education, and their mothers, we empower mothers in providing support to their children’s education at home.

Data from the Turkish Statistical Institute shows that mothers are responsible for child care in 89.6% of the families in Turkey. The data also demonstrates that 43% of women have only a primary school degree, 8% are not literate, and 74.9% of women with no literacy have four or more children.

FATHER SUPPORT PROGRAM

AÇEV has implemented its Father Support Program (FSP) since 1996 to support fathers in assuming responsibility in child care, building democratic relationships with their children and actively contributing to their children’s development. With the FSP, we reached more than 60,000 fathers in 21 years.

POWER PROGRAM

We started a new program named POWER (Politics for Women: Empowerment through Participation), which will serve to both increase literacy levels and empower women through life skills training.

WHAT HAVE WE DONE SO FAR?

The main purpose of AÇEV is to support children at risk with early intervention programs, to increase protective and supportive factors in children’s lives, and to reduce risk factors.
